Orlando Pirates and Sekhukhune United will meet for the second time in just over three days when they face off in a Betway Premiership clash at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Tuesday.

This will be the second of three successive matches between the teams: they met this past Saturday in Polokwane for the first leg of their MTN8 semifinal (with Bucs winning 1-0 thanks to Deon Hotto’s strike), and will complete that tie at the Orlando Stadium this coming weekend.

“I think we were not surprised, we know this type of game and I think credit has to be given to our boys, they responded very well in terms of discipline, in terms of organisation,” said Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.

Pirates, the reigning Betway Premiership champions, find themselves in a four-way tie on top of the log (joined on seven points by Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu FC) and will be hungry to keep their title defence on track with another three point haul.

Babina Noko have also had a solid start to the league campaign (they are fifth with six points) and getting some revenge against Bucs – as well as laying down a marker for their MTN8 semifinal second-leg rematch next weekend – will be foremost in the ambitions for coach Cedric Kaze.

“We need to work more on our last third entries and have more composure, movements and better technical accuracies, but I’m hoping we will get better,” said Kaze.

Tuesday also features rookies Kruger United chasing their first win when they host Durban City in Nelspruit; bottom-of-the-log Marumo Gallants will already be feeling the pressure ahead of their home match against TS Galaxy; and Siwelele FC welcome Chippa United to the Free State Stadium.
