2025-26 Betway Premiership
Kaizer Chiefs v TS Galaxy
- FNB Stadium
- Sunday 12 April 2026
- 15:00
Kaizer Chiefs will chase a fourth successive Betway Premiership win when they host TS Galaxy at the FNB Stadium on Sunday 12 April 2026, kick-off at 15:00.
Chiefs, having beaten Durban City and Magesi FC prior to the international break, picked up where they left off by defeating Orbit College 3-1 on Monday. The Amakhosi trailed for 20 minutes in the first half, but ultimately triumphed thanks to goals from Wandile Duba, Mduduzi Shabalala and Siphesihle Ndlovu.
A hat-trick of wins has propelled the Soweto giants into third place on the log. A late challenge to Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates for the title is unrealistic, but finishing as ‘best of the rest’ behind the leading duo brings the benefit of qualifying for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ben Yusuf has spoken the benefits of claiming three wins on the trot: “It’s very important for the confidence, for the team, for the fans. We have to keep this good moment. We have to continue to fight, to stay in this good vibe and with this good energy.”
He added, “The most important thing is that we are thinking only about our own performance, because I think that if we play like we played [against Orbit], we can win the next game. But everything is difficult. We have to prepare properly and we have to stay focused.”
TS Galaxy, meanhwile, have experienced mixed fortunes in recent days. While they booked a place in the Nedbank Cup final with a penalty-shootout win over Milford FC last weekend, Wednesday evening saw them beaten 2-1 at home in a league clash against Polokwane City.
The Rockets have therefore gone eight Premiership matches without a victory, and find themselves in 12th place on the log – three points off the pace needed to be in the top eight.
In head-to-head stats, Galaxy and Chiefs have met in 11 league matches dating back as far as the 2020-21 season. Each side has managed just the one win in the sequence, while no less than nine of their games have finished in draws.
The teams last met in December 2025, playing out a 0-0 stalemate at the Mbombela Stadium.
