As one of the most in-form teams in the Betway Premiership at the moment, Kaizer Chiefs could record their sixth straight victory when they take on Polokwane City away on Saturday.

While Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates engage in a tense battle for the Betway Premiership title, Kaizer Chiefs have quietly gone about their business in the last couple of months.

Chiefs currently occupy third in the league on 45 points from 23 games and are well on their way to CAF Confederation Cup qualification, holding a six-point lead over fourth-placed AmaZulu.

The Soweto giants last secured a 4-1 win over Magesi, a result that capped off an impressive five-win streak. Chiefs will now look to continue their success in Polokwane as they enter back-to-back games in the City.

Rise and Shine will go into their next league game sitting in seventh position as they look to secure a top-eight place this season.

Polokwane City has gathered 33 points from 23 matches so far, following their 1-1 draw with Chippa United in their most recent league assignment.

Regarding their form, Polokwane City recorded just one win in their last five matches, with two losses and two draws along the way.

Speaking after Kaizer Chiefs’ win over Magesi, Khalil Ben Youssef expressed that he will bank on a full squad of players in the hopes of remaining in a lofty position on the standings.

I think from the start of the season we said that the performance always was there,” Khalil Ben Youssef said.

We were a little bit unlucky sometimes, sometimes we missed a lot of chances then we’re unlucky about the injuries.

Now the squad is ready all the squad is ready and the competition is there for every situation we have”.
