Stellenbosch FC will chase a home victory in the Betway Premiership when they welcome Magesi FC to the Danie Craven Stadium on the evening of Wednesday, 18 February, 2026. Kick-off is at 19:30 CAT.

Stellenbosch closed out an unsuccessful CAF Confederation Cup group stage campaign on Sunday evening with a 0-0 draw at home to Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars.

Stellies were last in Betway Premiership action in January, securing a 1-0 win away to Sekhukhune United thanks to a debut goal from Tshegofatso Mabasa. It was just a fourth win from 15 league matches this season, with the Western Cape side coming into the game placed 13th on the log – just a point above the relegation playoff zone (albeit with games in hand on those below them).

Stellenbosch coach Gavin Hunt is happy to return to action at the Danie Craven Stadium, with the team playing at the venue for the first time since September 2025, while it has undergone renovations and updates.

“It means we don’t have to sit in a bus for two hours, getting to the stadium in Cape Town,” said Hunt.

Bet on the Betway Premiership

Magesi, meanwhile, come into the match placed at the very foot of the Betway Premiership table, having taken just 11 points from 16 matches in the 2025-26 season thus far.

Dikwena tsa Meetse have lost their last four matches on the spin (their most recent outing was a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Golden Arrows on Friday, 13 February) and gone eight without a win. Their last taste of victory was in a league game at home to TS Galaxy back in October 2025.

Last week they replaced coach John Maduka with veteran tactician Allan Freese, who will be tasked with trying to rescue the club from relegation in the remainder of the campaign.

In head-to-head terms, Stellenbosch and Magesi have met in just three league matches since the latter’s promotion to the top flight in 2024.

Last season each side claimed a home win against the other, while their meeting earlier this season, at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in August 2025, ended 1-1. Stellies claimed the lead via Langelihle Phili, before Kgomotso Mosadi earned a share of the spoils for Dikwena tsa Meetse.
